Let's have a Real Florida Adventure to visit one of Florida’s original roadside attractions. Weeki Wachee is an enchanted spring where you can see live mermaids, take a trip on a river boat cruise, learn about Florida wildlife, and swim in the pristine waters at Buccaneer Bay.
The mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs have entertained visitors since 1947.
The nearly 1,000-acre park features a 400-seat submerged theater for watching the live mermaid show.
Day One (Sun., Apr 27): The plan is to carpool north to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park on Sunday, April 27th at 7:30 AM to arrive by no later than 10 AM. Mermaid shows are at 11:00, 1:30, & 3:00. After exploring the park, we will travel to NJOY Distillery ($10 fee) for a tour and tasting in the afternoon.
Day Two (Mon., Apr 28): 9:00 AM meet back at the Weeki Wachee State Park to kayak the 2.8-mile journey down the Weeki Wachee River. ($35 single, $51 tandem)
You will be responsible for all charges incurred during this trip. You must make your own hotel reservations for Sunday, Apr 27th and kayak rental for Monday, Apr 28.
